Greetings fellow readers.
Well, I didn't want to write about this guy in my last article because the article is already too long so I decided to write a exclusive article about him.
This guy, THE guy, is one of the most badassest soldiers out there, better than John Basilone imo. Not many people have heard of Simo Hayha. Well he served the Finnish lines during the Winter War (1939-1940) and did his duty as a sniper. This guy's house is full of trophies for marksmanship before he joined the service.
What makes this guy so special? Well, with only a Finnish variant of the Mosin-Nagant rifle, using an iron sight instead of the standard Telescopic Sight (It would fog up quickly and he would have to raise his head higher in order to look through it, plus sunlight glare on the glass can give away his position).
He was credited with 505 confirmed Soviet Union kills, and other 500 unconfirmed, plus another 200 from a machine gun, giving him like 700-ish kills. Aided only by a couple of daylight time and dressed completely in white camo, he compacted the snow in front of him so the shot would not disturb the snow in front of him and give away his position AND also kept snow in his mouth so when breathing the vapor would not give him away.
No wonder why the Soviets nicknamed him "The White Death". This guy did everything he had on his surroundings to not give away his position. This guy i truly a hero. The Soviets did everything to get rid of him, artillery strikes, countersniping, but only managed to put a bullet in his jaw, and amazingly survived. I mean, wow! This is no ordinary man.
Ouch! Anyway, I hope you guys liked the article, leave some comments if you know any other war heroes and leave your opinions about this guy.

Dude... thats nuts. But badass. Hey, love the background image as well, keep it up!
The snow in the mouth was really clever.
Wow, reminds me of enemy at the gates, but much more badass.
It's amazing what humans can accomplish with so little.
keep this badass stries coming.
good job
Really loving this daily history treat with you, man! I have a request, if that's alright? The commander of the CSS Alabama, responsible for the sinking or capture of more Union tonnage during the US Civil War than any other commander. But his body count was almost zero. I don't remember his name, but I'm sure you do.
Pretty heroic, nice post and thanks for sharing man.
bad ass finish hero indeed
what a boss.
iron sights?
wow.
Not a bad record. Sometimes we get too caught up in modern combat that we forget just what a rifle with an iron sight can do.
@Aaron M. Gipson
I'm sure you're talking about Raphael Semmes.
He captured 60-70 prizes and only destroyed 1 warship.
John Basilone!
nice picture on your background
that's an unbelievable kill record. wow, and with an iron sight, too. you're right, he was a complete badass. no modern technology, just pure skill.

That's no sniper, that is a ninja. And what a KD ratio!
